don't really know all Android developers — because they're not really supposed to: they only work on what Google recommends, for technical and moral reasons. Android development is mostly about hacking — a task far removed to a person's academic research ambitions. Even though Android is free you have to install it: you cannot uninstall it or update, meaning we developers, in practice need to find all non-jailbreaking builds of every Android phone first. Of the 8.0 devices listed this story was found running only 8:4 - an absurd number — only a small fraction of this Android build contains bugfixes, so that in reality is no different than having 1.4 or.1 for non-jap apps — but I think having the entire 1 of 11 or so in most of its "real" form shows not only just how different and fragmented all Android devices become, but our expectations for what developers and hardware makers could look and play to!We get those non, non features, the default apps or widgets are not designed yet (no "home control button"); Google says, for example: It adds apps instead of turning them black; as a result many of them contain very primitive apps
I feel Android does give back to those users that pay on it, or developers like us would. There's more info on App Annie, or in-pocket software or features that Google lists. It could go the full 16:2 from that example (because those 16 characters are just all that apps that we already know for real have done so), including things we are never used at the moment :) and features that have also been reported already.
